4D3N KALIMANTAN: ORANGUTAN TOUR
DAY 1: AIRPORT - KUMAI - TANJUNG HARAPAN
(The tour start at 11.00)On arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, we will pick you up and then drive toKumai by taxi (approximately 30 minutes), passing several villages. Uponarrival in Kumai, boat up the river to explore the great mangrove, nipahpalm, and wildlife along the Sekonyer river while lunch is prepared on theboat.Prepare your self for the first encounter with the Orangutan, after shorttrekking in Borneo Jungle we will meet the giant ape in Tanjung HarapanCamp. Get your camera ready, not only during the feeding, sometimes wecould see the wild Orangutan swinging between the tree on our way.Late afternoon, observe the view and animals along the river.We could donight trekking (Optional), Overnight on the boat. (L, D)
DAY 2: JUNGLE TREKKING - CAMP LEAKEY
After breakfast, boat up the river to Camp Leakey. It is a research centerwhere the older orangutans are reintroduced to the rain forest. Afterthat, you may go for Jungle trekking in the rainforest to see more in thejungle and to spot other wildlife.Go back to the boat for lunch and trek to feeding station and then see theorangutans being fed around 2 pm. Back to the boat and cruising downthe river to find the spot for anchoring. Overnight on the boat. Ifweather permitted we could do a night trekking. (B, L,D).
DAY 3: PONDOK TANGGUI - TANJUNG HARAPAN
After breakfast, boat down the river to Pondok Tangguy which is a rehabilitation center for the ex-captive orangutans and see feeding time around 9 am.You can also plant a baby tree there.In the afternoon, visit Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center to witness another feeding timearound 3 pm. After that, you may visit a village near the national park to see and experience thedaily life of local people. Boat down the river to the Nipah palm area where you can see the beautifulfireflies when the weather is good. Overnight on the boat. (B, L, D)
DAY 4: KUMAI - PANGKALAN BUN
After breakfast, boat down to Kumai and then transfer by car toPangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. Tour ends. (B)(The tour end at 9am)
